Moku is an old fisherman who lives by Waimea Bay, long before Captain Cook, and long before the missionaries came to the islands. Moku and his wife are having a difficult winter with sea storms making it difficult to go out fishing. Just when they think they will starve, Moku makes one last attempt. At last, he come across a giant he’e who selfishly offers himself to Moku and his ‘ohana. In return, Moku and the he’e become friends and they take care of each other until the end of their days.
