A history of Queen Emma, consort to King Kamehameha IV (Alexander Liholiho).
Queen Emma’s love for the Hawaiian people is evident in her tremendous legacy—the establishment of Queen’s Medical Center, her contribution to the Hawaii State Library, the founding of St. Andrew’s Priory as a school for Hawaiian girls and Iolani school for boys.
Following the death of her son, Prince Albert, and husband, Queen Emma immersed herself in politics, social events, and philanthropy.
