About the Author

Michael Preston was born in Uganda and educated in Kenya, New Zealand, and England. He has been a Waldorf class teacher for over two decades in England and the United States and also served as a volunteer teacher in Vanuatu. Before moving to Hawaii in 1990, he played violin and guitar and some ukulele. Once in Hawaii, Michael enthusiastically took to the ukulele and music from Hawaii and the South Pacific. Over time, he created a ukulele program for his school in addition to giving private lessons to adults and children. He developed a learning approach that appealed to students, which led to many enjoyable and well-received ukulele emsemble performances. Michael is married with three grown children and three grandchildren.
